Computing

The HPC needs of members of the ICC and their collaborators are catered for by COSMA.

The system is managed by a small team of people led by Dr. Alastair Basden. Contact details are:

Supercomputing access and usage at the ICC

The COSMA help and information pages provide a wealth of information about accessing and using COSMA. COSMA includes:

  • The ICC computing service, COSMA5
  • The DiRAC national Memory Intensive Service, COSMA7 and COSMA8, funded by STFC
  • The HPC Hardware and Development Lab at Durham University

The document supercomputing access and usage describes the supercomputing resources at the ICC and how to access them. It describes how most of the CPU time on the DiRAC machines is allocated by DiRAC's Resource Allocation Committee (RAC), but ICC members have additional resources that can be used without a RAC time allocation.

If you have a large project for which you would like to make use of these resources we ask you provide details of the project on the following form (It defines what is meant by large): Large projects using non-RAC allocated time.
